The Act provides for the Electronic Identity Verification Service (the Service) which, among other things, enables a person to verify his or her identity online in order to meet the identification requirements of participating agencies in relation to certain transactions and services. The Service also enables entities that are declared by regulations to be participating agencies to verify a person’s identity by electronic means, provided they have the person’s consent.
These regulations add 8 individually named bodies to those declared by regulation 4 of the principal regulations to be participating agencies for the purposes of the Act.
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
