1 Title

These regulations are the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Prescribed Information) Amendment Regulations 2011.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3 Principal regulations amended

These regulations amend the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Prescribed Information) Regulations 1995.

4 Name change certificates

Regulation 9 is amended by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (b):
- “(ba) the person's full name at birth:”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend regulation 9 of the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Prescribed Information) Regulations 1995, which prescribes the information that must be contained in a name change certificate. The amendment provides that a person's full name at birth must be contained in the certificate.
