Health Entitlement Cards Amendment Regulations 2007: revoked, on 1 April 2008, by regulation 5 of the Health Entitlement Cards Amendment Regulations 2008 (SR 2008/49).

At Wellington this 5th day of March 2007

Pursuant to section 92(3) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000 and section 132A of the Social Security Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title

These regulations are the Health Entitlement Cards Amendment Regulations 2007.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 April 2007.

3 Principal regulations amended

These regulations amend the Health Entitlement Cards Regulations 1993.

4 Eligibility for community services cards

(1) Regulation 8(5)(a) is amended by omitting “$20,916” and substituting “$21,676”.

(2) Regulation 8(5)(b) is amended by omitting “$22,157” and substituting “$22,981”.

(3) Regulation 8(5)(c) is amended by omitting “$33,083” and substituting “$34,328”.

(4) Regulation 8(6)(a) is amended by omitting “$39,633” and substituting “$41,196”.

(5) Regulation 8(6)(b) is amended by omitting “$47,085” and substituting “$49,364”.

(6) Regulation 8(6)(c) is amended by omitting “$53,138” and substituting “$56,096”.

(7) Regulation 8(6)(d) is amended by omitting “$59,050” and substituting “$62,684”.

(8) Regulation 8(6)(e) is amended by omitting “$65,743 per annum for the first 6 people, plus a further $5,962” and substituting “$70,073 per annum for the first 6 people, plus a further $6,482”.

5 Consequential revocations

The following are consequentially revoked:

- (c) Health Entitlement Cards Amendment Regulations 2006 (SR 2006/39).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2007, amend the Health Entitlement Cards Regulations 1993. The amendments raise the income entitlement thresholds that are used to determine a person's eligibility for a community services card.
