Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2007: revoked, on 1 February 2014, pursuant to regulation 161(1)(e) of the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/482).

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title

These regulations are the Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2007.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 April 2007.

3 Principal regulations amended

These regulations amend the Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986.

4 Interpretation

The definition of white pointer in regulation 3 is revoked.

5 Maximum daily number of fish

The item relating to white pointer in the table in regulation 3A(1) is omitted.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations remove the recreational daily limit for white pointer shark in the South-East Fishery Management Area. The white pointer shark is now absolutely protected under the Wildlife Act 1953.

These regulations come into force on 1 April 2007.
