Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Freshwater Fish Farming Regulations 1983 ( “the principal regulations”) as follows:

• •the hourly rate of processing an application (in respect of which a fee is prescribed in the Schedule) under regulation 15A(1A) of the principal regulations is reduced from $202.62 to $133.88:

• •the fee to apply for a fish-farm licence under regulation 8 of the principal regulations is reduced from $3,039.30 to $2,008.20:

• •the fee to apply for a variation of the conditions of a fish-farm licence under regulation 8 of the principal regulations is reduced from $1,215.60 to $803.28:

• •the fee to apply for the renewal of a fish-farm licence under regulation 11 of the principal regulations is reduced from $1,215.60 to $803.28:

• •the fee to apply for approval for transfer of fish-farm licence under regulation 12 of the principal regulations is reduced from $1,215.60 to $803.28:

• •the fee to apply for each approval, authority, or consent of the Director-General granted under regulations 17, 18, and 22 of the principal regulations—

  • •in respect of a single occasion or transaction only is reduced from $101.31 to $66.94:

  • •in any other case is reduced from $405.24 to $267.76.
