Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the Land Transport (Driver Licensing and Driver Testing Fees) Amendment Regulations 2013.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 November 2013.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Land Transport (Driver Licensing and Driver Testing Fees) Regulations 1999 (the principal regulations).

4 Regulation 9 amended (Replacement licence or driver identification card)

After regulation 9(1), insert:

(1A)

The fee payable by the chief executive of the Ministry of Justice for a replacement photographic driver licence, if section 91G(5) or 91H(4) of the Act applies, is the appropriate fee specified in Part 7 of the Schedule.

5 Schedule amended

(1)

In the Schedule, Part 7, item 4, replace “37.40” with “38.20”.

(2)

In the Schedule, Part 7, after item 4, insert:

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 November 2013, amend the Land Transport (Driver Licensing and Driver Testing Fees) Regulations 1999.

The regulations provide that the fee payable by the chief executive of the Ministry of Justice to the New Zealand Transport Agency (the Agency) for replacing a photographic driver licence is $38.20. This is payable when the Agency replaces a licence following the cancellation or termination of a driver licence stop order. The fee is the same as the fee payable for replacing a lost or stolen licence (which is updated by these regulations to reflect the actual fee payable following the increase in goods and services tax on 1 October 2010).

1 General

This is a consolidation of the Land Transport (Driver Licensing and Driver Testing Fees) Amendment Regulations 2013 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.

2 Legal status
