Medicines Amendment Regulations 2021

Her Excellency the Governor-General in Council
These regulations are made under section 105 of the Medicines Act 1981—
(a)
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
(b)
on the advice of the Minister of Health given in accordance with that section.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Medicines Amendment Regulations 2021.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 30 March 2021.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Medicines Regulations 1984 (the principal regulations).
4 Regulation 4A amended (Standard for CBD products)
In regulation 4A(4), replace “1 April 2021”
with “1 October 2021”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 30 March 2021, amend the Medicines Regulations 1984. The amendment to regulation 4A(4) provides a 6-month extension to the transitional period during which there is an exemption to the minimum quality standard that applies to certain CBD products of a licence holder. The transitional period now ends on 30 September 2021, and the minimum quality standard will apply on and after 1 October 2021.
