This order is administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.

PURSUANT to the Public Bodies Contracts Act 1959, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

1 Title

  • This order may be cited as the Public Bodies Contracts Order 1971.

2 Public bodies

  • Schedule 1 to the Public Bodies Contracts Act 1959 is hereby amended by inserting in the appropriate columns of Part 1 (as amended by section 5(3) of the Hydatids Amendment Act 1953), after the item relating to approved organisations under the Hydatids Act 1968, the following item:

    Area electricity authorities 1967, No 160-The Electricity Distribution Commission Act 1967

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

The effect of this order is that the area electricity authorities constituted under section 28 of the Electricity Distribution Commission Act 1967 are public bodies for the purposes of the Public Bodies Contract Act 1959.

Issued under the authority of the Regulations Act 1936.
