Pursuant to section 37 of the Road User Charges Act 2012, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Order

1 Title
  • This order is the Road User Charges (Exemption Period for Light Electric RUC Vehicles) Order 2012.

2 Commencement
  • This order comes into force on 1 August 2012.

3 Interpretation
4 Exemption period for light electric RUC vehicles
  • For the purposes of section 37 of the Act, the period during which road user charges are not payable in respect of light electric RUC vehicles is the period—

    • (a) beginning on the commencement of this order; and

    • (b) ending with the close of 30 June 2020.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 August 2012, specifies the period during which road user charges are not payable under the Road User Charges Act 2012 in respect of light electric RUC vehicles as the period beginning on the commencement of this order and ending with the close of 30 June 2020.
