33 Section 53 amended (Special provisions for notice terminating service tenancies)

(1)

In section 53(1), replace “The landlord or the tenant must give a minimum period of notice of 14 days to terminate a service tenancy” with “The landlord or the tenant may terminate a service tenancy by giving at least 14 days’ notice”.

(2)

In section 53(4), replace “the minimum period of notice required to be given by the landlord to terminate the tenancy shall, subject to subsection (5), be 14 days” with “the landlord may terminate the tenancy by giving at least 14 days’ notice”.

(3)

In section 53(5), replace “In any case to which subsection (4) applies, the landlord may terminate the tenancy by the giving of notice of less than 14 days, but at least 5 days,” with “However, in any case to which subsection (4) applies, the landlord may terminate the tenancy by giving at least 5 days’ notice”.
