This order is made under section 2(2) of the Courts Matters Act 2018 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

1 Title
This order is the Courts Matters Act 2018 (Amendments to Courts Security Act 1999) Commencement Order 2019.
2 Commencement of rest of amendments to Courts Security Act 1999
Sections 7, 10, and 12 to 24 of the Courts Matters Act 2018 come into force on 8 April 2019.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
Part 1 of the Courts Matters Act 2018 (Part 1) amends the Courts Security Act 1999. The amendments expand court security officers’ powers to enable them to deal more effectively with low-level offending and disruptive behaviour in courts and tribunals. Some of Part 1 came into force on 14 November 2018. This order brings the rest of Part 1 into force on 8 April 2019.
