This order is made under section 2 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Amendment Act 2015 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

1 Title
This order is the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Amendment Act 2015 Commencement Order 2016.
2 Commencement of section 10 of Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Amendment Act 2015
Section 10 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Amendment Act 2015 comes into force on 1 July 2016.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings section 10 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Amendment Act 2015 into force on 1 July 2016.
Section 10 of that Act replaces section 26 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996. It extends the Environmental Protection Authority’s statutory power to allow it to determine a hazardous substance’s hazard classification and the approvals that apply or that are required to be obtained.
