The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Policing (Involvement in Local Authority Elections) Amendment Act 2010.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Principal Act amended
This Act amends the Policing Act 2008.
4 Police involvement in elections
-
(1) Section 99(1) is amended by omitting
“or a member of a local authority”
.(2) Section 99(1)(b) is amended by omitting
“or subsections (2) to (4) of this section”
.(3) Section 99(2) to (4) are repealed.
5 Section 115 repealed
Section 115 is repealed.
