The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Maori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement Amendment Act 2006.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

3 Principal Act amended
4 Interpretation

  • (1) Paragraphs (c) and (d)(i) and (ii) of the definition of pre-commencement space in section 20 are amended by omitting “67Q” and substituting in each case “67Q(2)(a)”.

    (2) Paragraph (d)(i) of the definition of pre-commencement space in section 20 is amended by adding “, and the permit that was granted is for aquaculture activities”.
