Preamble
At Wellington this 27th day of August 2007
Pursuant to section 2 of the Parole Amendment Act 2007, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
1 Title
This order is the Parole Amendment Act 2007 Commencement Order 2007.
2 Commencement of Parole Amendment Act 2007
The Parole Amendment Act 2007, except for the following sections, comes into force on 1 October 2007:
(a) section 4(1), (3), and (7):
(b) section 16:
(c) sections 48 and 49:
(d) section 67.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings most of the provisions of the Parole Amendment Act 2007 into force on 1 October 2007. The remaining provisions relate to the parole guidelines to be prepared by the Sentencing Council under the Sentencing Council Act 2007 (not yet in force) and related changes to parole eligibility.
