Health (Constituencies of District Health Boards) Order 2001: revoked, on 22 April 2004, by clause 4(2) of the Health (Cancellation of Division of District Health Boards into Constituencies) Order 2004 (SR 2004/63).

Pursuant to section 19 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Order
1 Title
This order is the Health (Constituencies of District Health Boards) Order 2001.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Interpretation
In this order, unless the context otherwise requires,—
local government area—
(a) means the district or the part of the district in respect of which a territorial authority or a ward is, at the commencement of this order, established under the Local Government Act 1974; and
(b) includes any part of New Zealand to which, at the commencement of this order, section 37R(1) of the Local Government Act 1974 applies
member, in relation to a constituency, means a member of the board of the DHB to which the constituency relates.
4 Division of DHBs into constituencies
The geographical area of each DHB named in column 1 of the Schedule is divided into those constituencies that appear immediately below the DHB in that column.
5 Determination of number of members to be elected for each constituency
The electors of each constituency named in column 1 of the Schedule elect the number of members that is shown opposite to the constituency in column 2 of the Schedule.
6 Determination of boundaries of constituencies
Each constituency named in column 1 of the Schedule includes within its boundaries the local government areas set out opposite to the constituency in column 3 of the Schedule.
7 Schedule 1 of New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000 amended
Column 2 of Schedule 1 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000 is amended by adding to the item relating to the Bay of Plenty DHB the following words
“, Mayor Island (Tuhua), Motiti Island”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on the day after its notification in the Gazette, establishes constituencies of District Health Boards (DHBs) for electoral purposes. Members of the boards of DHBs are elected by the residents of constituencies. The order specifies the number of members to be elected by the electors of each constituency.
The order also amends Schedule 1 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000 to include Mayor (Tuhua) and Motiti Islands in the geographical area of the Bay of Plenty DHB.
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
