An Act to amend the Ship Registration Act 1992

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title and commencement

(1) This Act may be cited as the Ship Registration Amendment Act (No 2) 1999, and is part of the Ship Registration Act 1992 (“the principal Act”).

(2) This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

2 New Zealand-owned ships

(1) This subsection amended s 3(1) of the principal Act.

(2) Section 3 of the principal Act is amended by repealing subsection (3).

3 Evidence required before registration

This section amended s 14(1)(b) of the principal Act.

4 Entry of particulars in Part B of Register

This section inserted s 21(6) of the principal Act.

5 Alterations to ships

This section inserted s 30(5) of the principal Act.

6 Closure of registration

This section inserted s 32(3A) of the principal Act.

7 Discharge, waiver, or extinction of mortgage

This section substituted section 45 of the principal Act.

8 Evidence relating to transmissions

This section substituted section 81 of the principal Act.
