An Act to amend the Education Act 1964

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Education Amendment Act 1972, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Education Act 1964 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

Section 5 was impliedly repealed, as from 8 November 1974, by section 10(1) Education Amendment Act (No 2) 1974 (1974 No 136).

6 Establishment of teachers colleges

(1)

This subsection substituted section 106(2) of the principal Act.

Subsection (2) was repealed, as from 8 November 1974, by section 22(4) Education Amendment Act (No 2) 1974 (1974 No 136).

Section 7 was repealed, as from 10 October 1975, by section 5(2)(d) Education Amendment Act (No 2) 1975 (1975 No 130).

11 12 Annual report

(1)

This subsection substituted s 202(1) of the principal Act.

(2)

Notwithstanding any other provision whatsoever, it shall be sufficient compliance with any requirement that a report and statement of accounts be presented by the Director-General to the Minister in respect of any time within the period commencing with the 1st day of January 1971 and ending with the 31st day of March 1972 for the Director-General to present, or to have presented, to the Minister the report and statement in respect of that time as soon as practicable after the said 31st day of March 1972.

13 Consequential repeals

The following enactments are hereby consequentially repealed—

Section 6 of the Finance Act 1956:

Subsection (2) of section 11 of the Education Amendment Act 1967.
