An Act to amend the Meat Export Control Act 1921–22
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Meat Export Control Amendment Act 1969, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Meat Export Control Act 1921–22 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Term of office of members of Board
Notwithstanding anything in section 2 of the principal Act, but subject to subsection (6) of that section, every member of the New Zealand Meat Producers Board who is in office on the 1st day of September 1970 (including a member whose term of office expires on that day) shall, unless he sooner vacates office pursuant to subsection (7) of that section, continue in office until the 1st day of April 1971.
3 Appointment of Chairman
(1)
Section 5 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (3), and substituting the following subsection:
“(3)
On the second Wednesday in April in the year 1971 and on the same day in each succeeding year, the Board shall hold a meeting for the purpose of appointing a Chairman for the ensuing 12 months.”
(2)
This section shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1970.
