This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 26 June 2009, appoints different dates for the purposes of section 69C(1) to (7) of the Health Act 1956 (the Act). The dates appointed by this order have the effect of deferring by 3 years the general application of sections 69S to 69ZC of the Act to various classes of drinking-water supplier. Those sections impose duties on persons who supply drinking water to people in New Zealand and overseas from drinking-water supplies.
The following table sets out the dates appointed by this order in relation to different classes of drinking-water supplier:
