3 Establishment of New Zealand Fire Service

(1) There shall be established a fire service to be known as the New Zealand Fire Service which shall be under the control of the New Zealand Fire Service Commission constituted under section 4, and shall comprise the employees of the Commission, together with every volunteer fire brigade registered with the New Zealand Fire Service Commission pursuant to section 34.
